What Causes Frequent Fainting Spells?

I have been having fainting spells where I am driving and I become out of it where I am not there every few seconds and I feel I am 'going down'. The last time I was shaking so hard, it was uncontrollable and someone gave me food and glucose tablets. I understand it is a low blood sugar issue and I was tested for that but why would this happen to me, doesn't some other imbalance cause this? Such as thyroid imbalance?

Endocrinologist 's  Response
Hi dear user
I have gone through your question.
I can understand your concern.

Your symptoms are very similar to hypoglicemia symptoms but feeling faint can be even a symptom of thyroid imbalance or more specifically of hypothyroidism.

My advice is to consult an endocrinologist and to do the tests of hypoglicemia :fasting glicemia and the measurement of blood glucose in the moment when you feel faint, but in my opinion you should do even the thyroid tests TSH,free T3 free T4.

After the test your doctor will have the necessary informations to say if your symptoms are due or not to hypoglicemia or hypothyroidism.

Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
Thank you for using HCM.
