What Causes Frequent Bowel Movements And Severe Abdominal Bloating?

For a couple days I have been having paler and more frequent bowel movements. I thought it was from the new calcium pills with magnesium. Yesterday I had terrible bloating and last night such bad diarrhea that I was in a cold sweat and then passed out and fell. I don t know what to think about this. I did once pass out after a colonic. I though I may need electrolytes, but why the pale poops?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Stool color is generally influenced by what you eat as well as the amount of bile (a yellow-green fluid that digests fats) in your stool. Pale stool is usually caused by a lack of bile in stool (this may indicate a bile duct obstruction) or may be caused by taking drugs like Bismuth Subsalicylate/other anti-diarrheal drugs. I wish to find out if you have yellow eyes, fever? With abdominal bloating, examination by the doctor with an abdominal ultrasound will be very important.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mbuomboh Veranso
