What Causes Foul Smelling Discharge From The Nipples?

I have a very strong onion taste coming from my nipples. It leaves a strong odor/taste in my boyfriend s mouth. Its been happening for years now. I do not take any medications regularly, i do have one cup of coffee a day with just cream, I m 42 years old, i have one son who s 20, ive tried to stay away from garlic and onions in the past and it made no difference, when showering i circle around my breasts ending in my arm pit (a suggestion by my breast specialist to drain lymph nodes?) Nothing seems to work. PLEASE HELP!!!

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I would explain that your symptoms could be related to increased prolactine levels or a local infection. For this reason, I would recommend performing a breast ultrasound and checking complete blood count and prolactine plasma levels.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
