What Causes Foul Smelling Discharge After Intercourse?

Hello! My question is that I have a new sex partner. We both have been std tested and our test have come back negative. But I noticed after having unprotected sex I have a foul smelling discharge. It s white, thick, and sometimes stretchy. Could this be BV?

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that foul smelling discharge from Vagina after unprotected sex when you both have been diagnosed free from sexually transmitted diseases can be most probably due to Bacterial Infection known as Bacterial Vaginosis..

It can also be due to fungal or Trichomonas infection but is most commonly bacterial infection..

I would suggest you to consult a Gynaecologist and get evaluated and she can do a clinical evaluation and also advise a vaginal swab culture and specific tests like Whiff test to confirm the diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..

Treatment will be done as per cause.

In case of bacterial infection you can be advised:
1. Antibiotics like Metronidazole and and both partners needs to be treated..
2. Abstain from sex till the infection resolves.
3.You should put pantyliners to avoid soiling your panties if the discharge is continuous as the panties can cause re-infection..
4.You should wear loose fitting and cotton clothes..
5.Maintain proper hygiene..
