What Causes Foul Smell From The Navel Area?

Hi, I just found out that something similar to poo with the same smell coming our of my belly button. I cleaned it up by taking a shower and I just carefully examined it and it looks slightly swollen and red inside. I am wondering what could cause this?

Dear- thanks for using our service and will give you my medical advise. The navel is a very sensitive area for the acumulation of humidity that can smell bad.You can clean it and let it dry, then apply local antibiotic cream three times a day for 5-7 days. It might be a local infection that will clear with local antibiotic cream and keep it clean . Nothing serious , except for a local infection.Just keep the navel dry when clears the infection to avoid another one.
