What Causes Foul Odour In The Left Arm Pit After A Bypass Surgery?

Hi, I had bypass surgery 3 1/2 years ago. I am still struggling to regain strength on my left side. I had a cyst under my left arm about a year ago, which ruptured and left a small hole that drained for awhile. Recently I have noticed a foul odor in my left arm pit, which tends to stay moist, unlike my right arm. I have a 6-month physical in a month, should I wait until then to discuss this with my general practitioner as I have no other symptoms?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

If you have severe pain, oozing pus or a fever, see your doctor. If not, it is okay to try and wait it out.

Hope this helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Anders Mark Christensen, General Surgeon
