What Causes Foul Body Odor?

Within the past couple of months, I ve noticed as very sickening, sweet smell eminating from my husband either on his breath or from his pores like some kind of musty body odor. He is almost 70 yrs. old, has had a heart attack, triple by-pass surgery, and is currently diagnosed as pre diabetic. He controls this with diet and exercise and had a very positive 6 month check up with all vitals, (cholesterol, b.p., glucose levels, etc.) in a normal range. Of course, he is on many pills for his coronary conditions, but this sweet smell is fairly recent. What could this indicate?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

It is possible that your husband is suffering from some degree of urinary incontinence. You could get that evaluated by your clinician/urologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
