What Causes Fluttering Feeling When Lying Down On The Side?

while lying down on either side....fluttering feeling at nape of neck and almost a feeling of feeling all the nerves running through my body or being able to feel the blood flowing through my extremeties and then it will stop for about 2 seconds and then start again. Sensation stops if I am lying on my back.

Hi,

I believe that an appointment with your primary doctor at first who may be able to order either an ultrasound or CT angiogram could rule out the presence of any sort of vascular anomalies such as an arteriovenous malformation or an aneurysm would be worthwhile.

At the same time you could also be tested for things such as vitamin B12, vitamin D, and thyroid hormones (FT4, TSH) to check on some basic metabolic parameters.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dariush Saghafi,
Neurologist
