What Causes Floaters In The Field Of Vision With Dry Eyes?

I have vitreaous detachments and floaters. Also very dry eyes . What would cause a a vision problem -for about five minutes I had wavy luminescent vision in the left portion of my left eye. It made it very hard to see and peripheral vision was affected. It looked like you were looking through oil on the top of a puddle. Could the floater have centered over the pupil causing this to happen. I do have a slight headache in back of this eye

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms you explain are typical of vitreous detachment. It may cause vision changes and floaters and the feeling like you have a wavy vision.
It is important that you let your doctor know and get the proper treatment to prevent retinal detachment as this is generally irreversible and causes permanent vision loss.

I hope this answers your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
