What Causes Fishy Odor To The Urine?

I have notice for about the last wee my urine has had a very fishy smell and I'm wondering if it could be because i just started drinking coffee again and i haven't been drinking enough water as I should? I also got Mirena put in a couple months back...

fishy odor can be due to vaginal infection or pelvic inflammatory disease. if you have associated symptoms like thick discharge with a different than usual color, back pain, pelvic pain, fever etc you need to get evaluated for infection of the genital tract. your doctor will decide what it is based on a detailed history, examination and some simple tests. if you have none of the associated symptoms and you feel alright otherwise, it could be related to the food you eat like fish, cabbage, garlic etc but I don't think it's associated with coffee intake
