What Causes Filaments In Urine And Swollen Penis?

I m giving out way too much info but sometimes the background may help. I m sorry if I didn t get right to the point. My son is 31 years old. He weighs 375 lbs. He has diabetes and uncontrollable high blood pressure. He also complains about what sounds like neuropothy in his feet. He says the feel like bee stings. About two years ago he had a 1mm stone that hospitalized him so he always checks his urine. He always saves his urine and filters it looking for stones. The problem we need to address is the foreign material in his urine and his swollen penis which he thinks has the begining of a hole in the side of the head of the penis. The first problem was his inability to urinate a stream because the urine came out as if something was causing it to go in two or more directions at the same time. It was like a blockage in his penis. It seemed to make him extremely fatigued and weak. It seemed as if ther was something stuck in there, so he had been drinking lots of water and then trying to force the blockage loose. Currently, he says, now, that his urination is not nearly as painful We could only guess it may have been a kidney stone in his penis, since he already has a collection of them in a jar. Now he said his urine had some strange particles in it. The foreign material in his urine looks like short, flesh looking, hairs. They vary in length from 1/16 to 1/4 or slightly longer. He said one appeared to have somethin hard and shiny on one end, but only the one. I may have been the way the light hit the container. The swollen penis issue may have some bearing on his entire situation but the stuff in his urine seems more important. My guess would be pieces of flesh, parasites, or albumin but it s only guesses. Any ideas about the fillaments in his urine.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my surgical experience, the narrated material in urine is possibly an epithelial fleck passed from the urinary bladder and indicate underlying urinary tract infection with bacteria most likely. A lab test of the same will help to clarify my opinion ahead.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
