What causes fever?

Hi-My daughter will be one year old next week. She has had a low fever for the last couple of days between 100.3 to 100.7. I have given her ibuprofen to treat this and any other pain she may be having. We offer her water which is her favorite beverage, but she will only drink a couple of sips. She cried inconsolably in the middle of the night for several hours last night and kept waking up crying. During the day, she seems a bit lethargic. She is very fussy to day. Her appetite has been good. She also feels abnormally cool to the touch and a bit clammy with no fever today yet. I am not sure what is going on. It could be teething but some of the issues she has do not seem to fit with that. Any ideas?

HI
Thank for asking to HCM
I really appreciate your concern looking to the history given here I could say that this could be viral fever because this is the only infection which so common in pediatric age group and this is nothing to worry because with the symptomatic treatment alone this would be fine, take care and have a nice day.
