What Causes Fever,, Swollen Gums And Loss Of Appetite?

My grandaughter is staying withme, went to dr. yesterday. She is running a fever, red swollen gums, and not much of a appetite.
The dr. put her on amoxicillin for a ear infection. The gum swelling just started today. Should I take her bacl to the dr. Did a strep test and it was negative.

thanks for your query, i have gone through your query. the swollen gum could be because of the gum infection secondary to deposits over the teeth or it can be because of herpes virus infection(since you are giving history of fever). consult a oral physician to rule out these two conditions. if it is because of gum infection then oral prophylaxis is required. if it is because of viral infection then just symptomatic treatment is required since it is self limiting. i hope my answer will help you. take care.
