What Causes Fever In Children?

My daughter has been running a fever on and off now since saturday thats almost 4 days now and is not messing with her ear or acting like anything else is wrong. Only sign of sick that she is showing is the fever and she is very happy and playful after I give her meds to bring down the fever. What could be the cause of this ?

Hi Dear,

Understanding your concern. As per your query your child have on and off fever which is not impairing activities of child, then need not to worry much. It could be due to exertion as well. I would suggest you to start with paracetamol every 4-6 hourly 15 mg/kg dose. Apart from that give child plenty of water and liquids. Avoid any outside food. If symptoms persist consult pediatrician for proper examination and start treatment accordingly.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
