What Causes Fever In A Child Suffering From Tonsillitis?

My 10 month old daughter has been perscribed penicillin for her tonsilitis 3 days ago and there still seems to be no improvement and she still has a raised temperature, should I take her back to the GP , or is there still time for the medicine to kick in?

Hello,

Usually the effect of penicillin will start the third day if taken orally. So, you just wait for the improvement in the following couple of days.

If no, then, should get back to her doctor to get rechecked and change therapy.

Keep well hydrated. Give probiotics to stabilize intestinal flora.

Wish fast recovery.
