Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

It looks like your daughter got a severe viral infection (probably viral exanthem) which can have a headache, cough and generalized body ache.

Common infections which can cause above mentioned symptoms are Dengue infection, Chickunguniya infection, Adenoviral infection, Enteric fever, Rickettsial infection etc.

I would suggest you give plenty of oral fluids with adequate analgesia (Paracetamol), which can make her feel a little better.

If she is very weak or not taking anything orally or has decreased urine output, then better to consult a paediatrician.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Nirubhan Bharathy, Pediatrician
