General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to a viral infection. The ammonia smell is probably related to the dehydration. Dehydration in children is a very serious issue, so I would recommend going to the emergency room for specific treatment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi,
