Hello,
Not all tooth infections produce pus. You describe symptoms of an infection. You may have a cracked tooth, a piece of bone or tooth under the gum, another tooth with deep decay or a gum condition. Further diagnosis and a follow up visit with your dentist is suggested for a clinical diagnosis. Antibiotics may be considered, but additional treatment for the actual cause is needed to prevent another occurance. Anti-inflammatory medications can reduce discomfort and swelling. I suggest taking an X-ray of the area. Your dentist may suggest other clinical tests after looking at your X-ray. report all symptoms to your dentist. Continue good daily dental care including brushing, flossing and rinsing.
Thank you for your inquiry.
