Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

From what you said, she is having fever and vomiting. If no other symptoms, it's likely just a viral fever. In such cases I used to give paracetamol 3-4 times a day and ondansetron 2-3 times a day for 2 days and call back. Usually it will come down. I'am not sure why you were prescribed azithromycin (the doctor might have got some signs on examination). If fever is not getting down by 2-3 days, or she develops loose stools, she may need antibiotics also for food poisoning, for which your doctor will help.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam TK, Pediatrician
