What Causes Fever And Sore Throat?

I have had a fever between 99 and 103 since Tuesday, I went to the doctor on Wednesday and at that time the only symptoms I had was the fever and body aches. I was prescribed amoxicillian twice a day for ten days, and to take ibprofen for the fever to break it. However even with taking the ibprofen the fever is still there and now i have a severe sore throat, nasal congestion accompanied by a cough and a ear ache? I was wondering what you would recommend that I do.

Medication takes some time to effect. I would suggest you following things:
> Continue taking antibiotic as prescribed your doctor
> Take acetaminophen for fever & ache
> Take hot water in a cup, add 1 table spoon salt in it. Perform gargles (mouth wash) with it three times a day for at least 3 days. It will give soothing effect.

AVOID:
> Chilled water
> Drinks
> Spicy food
