What Causes Fever And Chills During The First Trimester Of Pregnancy?

I have been experiencing sudden onset fever and chills going into my 5th week now. It makes me so weak, and even when gone I can not get out of bed for days. Then I have 1 to 2 days where I finally feel on the mend even though weak. 4 out of the last 5 Tuesday s has been the sudden onset. One day was Wednesday. Weird coincidence. I also have a cough and my eyes are burning. I also had an oral access but ABs knocked it out. I just switched to new MD but can t get in til April. Any thoughts?

Hi. Some studies demonstrate that pregnancy is a condition, where can appear immunosuppression. So women tend to be more affected by infections. In your case, it could be associated with a viral infection (something as simple as that) which can be treated. But if you feel other symptoms like dysuria, or lumbar pain, you should do an urine test, or urocultivo, hemogram, and visit an specialist, if fever goes on. Because you can have an Urinary Infection (which is pretty common during pregnancy) Remember your baby somehow is affected when you're sick. So, cheer up, do your tests and visit your doctor.
