What Causes Fever Along With Body Aches While Suffering From HIV Infection?

Hi Dr, I m currently under HIV Treatment for more than 2 weeks. Until now I still feel sick. I have mild fever, vomiting, body aches, lack of energy, tiredness, no appetite. However recently I went for private lab for blood test to check my HIV status. The lab has done twice but still cannot get the result. They only shows borderline. Since the result was borderline they sent my blood for their main lab for testing but now still in pending. Kindly advice will I get negative result or undetectable? I feel so sick of taking the drug everyday. I request my dr to do the test again and she said no need. But i m sure there must be something wrong.

Pulmonologist 's  Response
Hello,

HIV infection causes immunosuppression. And this can cause opportunistic infection which causes fever. So consult infectious disease specialist and start treatment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Kaushal Bhavsar, Pulmonologist
