What Causes Fever Along With Abdominal Pain On The Right Side?

I have a 16 year old daughter. She has been running a temp 100degrees. Last night we ended up in ER. She has abdominal pain on rt lower side. Urine culture seemed fine. Blood work was normal except her WBC was 2.7. She has head aches as well. An ulta sound and CT were done to rule out appendix. We are going to her primary to follow up on WBC. I am worried about her health. Am I over thinking this with thinking it s more serious?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Most probably it could be an infection related problem like mesenteric lymphadenitis.

As of now consult a general surgeon and start on antibiotics preferably ciprofloxacin.

If symptoms persist better to consult a gastroenterologist and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
