What Causes Feeling Of Urine In Bladder?

My husband had a foley catheter for 5 days following a TURBT. He had a very difficult time with it (pain and spasms). It has been 4 days since it was removed and he still says he feels tingling from his back to his penis when he urinates and it still feels like he has urine in his bladder. We are awaiting results of biopsies on 2 tumors found in his bladder. Will these symptoms subside daily and are they normal after a catheter? Thanks!

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

The symptoms are normal, but I suggest he has his bladder scanned for residual urine, and if there is more than 100 cc, he should have a catheter.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Anders Mark Christensen,
General Surgeon
