What Causes Fatigue, Hair Loss And Feeling Of Painful Lump Inside Throat?

i have all the symptoms of hypothyroidism ... severe fatigue, hair loss, weight gain, feeling of an aching lump in my throat, brittle hair and nails, decreased sense of smell and losing my voice. Blood tests showed a TSH of 3.4 and a throat scan showed nothing despite my gp seeing a goitre. Vitamin D levels were very low and i was given supplements but the symptoms still persist. A further blood test also showed a TSH of 3.2. i have enlarged glands under my jaw and very aching throat but no redness or discolouration...please help

Endocrinologist 's  Response
Hello and thank you for asking on HCM!
I read carefully your concern and understood your query.
The lymphnodes localised under the jaw are suggestive for an infection of the throat or teeth.
A detailed clinical examination and some blood tests will confirm the diagnosis;
-Full blood count and ESR
-Protein C reactive.
An ultrasound of the neck will also help to determine the nature of the lymph nodes.
Hope the information will help.
Kind regards,
Dr.Mirjeta
