What Causes Fatigue And Coughing?

I am concerned about my boss. She has some good days but other days she seems very confused with simple tasks. She gets hoarse and coughs quite often. On these days she is also extremely tired and pale. She has no energy at all. She has had an endoscopy and a colonoscopy recently but those tests were fine. I have asked her to have some lung x rays. My neighbor died from lung cancer recently and he had some of these same symptoms. She says that she is scared to ask for the xrays because her brother died from lung cancer as well. What is your opinion on this?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi welcome to health care magic...

Chronic cough doesn't always mean cancer.....

She might have. ...
-allergic inflammation
-repeated viral infection
-bronchitis
-tumour (but think last after rule out all infective etiology)

As family history of cancer positive she should refere to pulmonologist....

She needs work up with....
-Auscultation
-chest x ray
-spirimetry if needed
-sputum examination if needed etc...

According to cause further treatment can be guided...

Avoid smoking if habit..

Take care

Advise : consult pulmonologist for examination
