What Causes Fatigue And Body Chills While Suffering From Lyme Disease?
My 18 year old daughter who is s/p Lyme and Babesiosis (resolved 3 years ago after antibiotic and anti malarial meds) is c/o thinning nails (peeling off of layers), fatigue, cold at night when it is warm for others. Unfortunately, she developed a needle phobia while being treated for Lyme and she has not had blood work as a result. We are planning a procedural anaesthesia soon to get this done. In the mean time I was wondering what the rule outs might be?
As per your clinical history and if I were your treating doctor for this case of fatigue and chills, I would come up with these possibilities, which include: • The first possibility is bacterial or viral infections for which you need a full blood count for an exact diagnosis and treatment is higher antibiotics if bacterial infection is found. • The second possibility is Lyme disease. Diagnosis can be confirmed by physical examination as well as ELISA test for antibody and treatment is antibiotic Doxycycline for 21 days. Usually, after Lyme disease symptoms persists for many months and years.
I suggest you to consult a physician and do blood test.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Uday Nath Sahoo
