What Causes Fast Heart Beats?

we have a 19 month old boy who woke up with a high fever - the thermomete said 102, we gave him an infant dose of ibuprofen and 10 minutes later an infant dose of tylenol - we noticed that his heart seemed to be beating VERY fast, so fast i could not count the beats - if I had to guess I would say 180bpm or maybe higher
It's been about 30 minutes since we gave him the medicine and his fever seems to be coming down and the heart rate maybe a little slower but still very fast - should we be worried with the fast heart rate?
