What Causes Fast Heart Beat, Difficult Breathing And Bloating?

I woke up this morning, heart was pounding. My husband took my pulse, it was 110. I didn t feel like I could take in a deep breath, and area above navel felt hard (upper abdomen felt bloated). I felt like I needed to throw up. Dry heaved very hard at least 5 times. Was very weak but heart rate felt better and felt like I was able to breathe better. Tightness above navel felt better, abdomen still bloated. I do have a hernia in that area (was repaired but then failed a few months after--this was years ago). have esophagitis but didn t feel like esophagitis attack. I have several health conditions and on several medications. Had a similar episode last month, only felt more dizzy, hands tingled for about an hour later. Today I slept for about 10 hrs afterwards, so exhausted. Hands feel a bit tingly, upper body shaky. I am a zebra (when you hear hoofbeats....reference) with several autoimmune diseases and neurological diseases. Good luck ;)

Hi welcome to HCM.
I understand your query and concern.
Atrial fibrillation is known to cause Rapid heart rate, symptoms of difficult breathing, bloating and even at times fluctuations in blood pressure.I advise you to have a baseline 2 dimensional echocardiography,ECG and lipid profile to assess the basic cardiac reserve of your heart.Restrict the intake of salt to less than 6g/day.Regular physical exercise in the form of brisk walk for 20 min a daily is useful.Drugs like Metoprolol and Tab.pantop 40 mg will help.Reduce the intake of fatty and fried foods.Electrophysiological study with or without Radio frequency ablation is the procedure of choice in your case. You may also need Coronary angiogram to look for any co existent blocks in the heart. Consult a Cardiologist and discuss for further expert management.
Post your further queries if any,
Thank you
