What Causes Falling For No Apparent Reason Eventually Ending Up Hurting The Back?

I am 55 years of age and the past several months I catch myself falling for no apparent reason, my shoulders front and back, my arms front and back, my neck more in the back, certain areas of my entire back and my legs hurt so badly and I have tried Aleve, Advil Gel Caps, Hydrocodone and it just takes the edge off. In addition, when I awake in the am the bottoms of my feet are painful. My equilibrium is definately off but I do not have an inner ear infection. I am trying to find a new PCP however, it seems that either you have to wait two months or not taking new patients or insurance. I am raising my 13 year old granddaughter and there are days I can t do anything but lay in the bed. Can you tell by my symptoms what it may possibly be? Thank you. Respectfully, Carol S. Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Read your history carefully and understood your concerns about pain on the back portion of the body, pain in the legs on waking up and problems with balance probably causing you to fall on the back.
The cproblems can be due to:
- The pain in the back portion as you have mentioned are most probably due to fibromyalgia or repeated stress injury syndrome.
- The off balance can be due to problem with inner ear the vestibule or semicircular canals or the cerebellum and high resolution CT scan and MRI can detect the causes well, as well as the clinical examination by an ENT or Neuro can help you the best.
- Pain in the leg or the foot on waking up are usually due to fascitis and can he healed by saline water hot fomentation.
I hope these answers help you in an early diagnosis and proper treatment.
