What Causes Fainting, Cold Sensations And Sweating While On Coreg?

HI, About two hours ago, I had a short bout of feeling faint, and breaking out in a cold, clammy sweat. I laid down and it went away. I am on meds for Afib (Coreg) which I don t have after an ablation seven years ago. What could have caused this? Kim

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hi,
Welcome
This is Dr Sameer, cardiologist.
Atrial Fibrillation can cause clot formation in heart & we keep our patients on blood thinner for it. Clot can travel to any part of body including brain which can cause this faintness.
Other cause could be fall in bp.
So i recommend you to discuss with your primary doctor regarding need of blood thinner & a new 2D Echo to rule out any clot. I will also advice you to get a MRI brain done to rule out any possible clot travelling to brain. Monitor your bp regularly.
Thanks & take care
