What Causes Eye Swelling And Yellow Discharge From The Eyes?
Hi about 4 hours ago my eye started to slightly sting and water. It has progressively gotten worse and now underneath my eye is swollen and there is yellow discharge. Also if I bend my head down underneath my lower eye hurts and it feels like a ton of pressure. I m not sure if I should go to the er or wait o call my doctor in the morning. Thanks
Hi thank you for querry, Bacterial conjuctvitis purulent discharge of yellow in colour is occur due to bacterial infection,there are several causes the most common is contact lenses. A patient with bacterial conjunctivitis should wash hands often and avoid contaminating public swimming pools. Bacterial conjunctivitides generally last 1-2 weeks and are usually self-limiting. The mainstay of treatment for bacterial conjunctivitis is topical antibiotic therapy, like tobramycine/dexamethasone (tobradex) eye drops after every 6 hours. wash the eyes with cold water. mantain proper hygine to aviod contaimnation. hope the answer will help you. wish you a speedy recovery.
