What Causes Eye Swelling And Yellow Discharge From The Eyes?

Hi about 4 hours ago my eye started to slightly sting and water. It has progressively gotten worse and now underneath my eye is swollen and there is yellow discharge. Also if I bend my head down underneath my lower eye hurts and it feels like a ton of pressure. I m not sure if I should go to the er or wait o call my doctor in the morning. Thanks

Bacterial conjuctvitis
purulent discharge of yellow in colour is occur due to bacterial infection,there are several causes the most common is contact lenses.
A patient with bacterial conjunctivitis should wash hands often and avoid contaminating public swimming pools.
Bacterial conjunctivitides generally last 1-2 weeks and are usually self-limiting. The mainstay of treatment for bacterial conjunctivitis is topical antibiotic therapy,
like tobramycine/dexamethasone (tobradex)
eye drops after every 6 hours.
wash the eyes with cold water.
mantain proper hygine to aviod contaimnation.
