What Causes Eye Redness And A White Dot On Iris?

I have a small white dot on the outer edge of my iris right on the line. I am very worried because for the past two months I have had eye redness along where that dot is now and also some slight soreness. I am wondering if I could gain some answers as to what this might be. Any answers would be great help! Thanks!
