What Causes Eye Floaters In Peripheral Vision?

I have had two episodes of a visual disturbance not followed by a head ache. It only lasts about 5-10 minutes. The best way I can describe it is a blue/silver zig zagged line that I can see in my peripheral vision. It also has that kind of haze around it that you see over the tar on a really hot day. When I close my eyes, I can see it more clearly. Not sure if I should be concerned. Also, is it something to contact my PCP about or do I call an eye doctor?

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, the eye symptoms seems to be nonspecific but it can not be taken as granted but better to ruled out the possibility of retinal pathology and for that you need to see the eye surgeon hope this information helps.
