What Causes Extremely Chapped Lips?

Any recommendations for extremely chapped lips? I am not dehydrated, and it is winter here, so its not sunburn. I ve already tried Blistex, Aquaphor, Carmex, and Chapstick. None of them are working, and the corners of my mouth are tearing, and hurting very, very badly. Skin peels off of my lips all the time as well. Any advice?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello there,
If your lips are persistently peeling inspite of applying chapstick it could point to a vitamin b2/b4 deficiency. Have a multivitamin containing B complex once a day and also if you have a blocked nose and are a mouth breather get it rectified. The long periods of mouth breathing especially at night can damage your lips .

Hope this helps,
Dr Arun A
