What Causes Extreme Weakness After Taking Furosemide?

I am taking furosemide 40mg once a day lately my legs feel week like I can't carry my weight I am also type two diabetic taking lantus 70 units at night and humalog 18 units with meals plus sliding scale if needed depending on my sugars of late my am fasting has been 80-110, meal times are about 120-140 on average. I also take lisiniporal 20 mg once a day, and metoprolo 25mg two times a day. What's with the weakness?

I understand the situation you are going through!
Yes the general feeling of tiredness and weakness is the most common side effect of furosemide.

We have to take into consideration that you take a couple of other drugs in the same time, so the possibility of side effects is quite bigger.
But if you haven't had such symptoms before you started furosemide we might think that it is responsible.

In this case i would recommend you to take the half of the tablet every morning and see if the side effects are gone gradually. If they don't then another diuretic drug must be taken instead of this.

Since you are diabetic too, you must consult with your endocrinologist to do changes in your therapy.
