What Causes Excessively Bruised And Itchy Legs?

hi, about a month ago I had a blood test done. It said my white, red and platelet count was a little high plus my liver function was high. I also get itchy a lot on my legs to the point I bruise. I was also very itchy on my back for about a month and was put on cortisone cream which helped but it has gone to my legs. Is the itching related to my liver or the blood count being a bit high?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
I went through your query. The itching is most likely to be due to liver problem. It is known to cause generalised itching. However, for you to have itching, you need to be having severe liver disease that would have caused jaundice (yellowing of eyes and dark urine and pale coloured stools) If these are not present then there is a possibility that its not related to Liver but a concomitant skin disease which needs evaluation by a skin specialist. This skin problem is mostly allergy to some thing and is treatable.

Regards
Dr. Jeffrey
