Addiction Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hi,

The symptoms that you are describing occur due to an excess of nicotine reaching your blood stream. Your body has developed no tolerance for nicotine and so, it reacts in this way. The symptoms improve when nicotine is metabolized and is no longer active. You can prevent this by reducing the number of puffs you take from a cigarette. Even better would be not to smoke at all!

Best wishes.
