What Causes Excessive Sweating While Suffering From An Enlarged Spleen?
I have excessive sweating daily from about 11 am to 4 pm. I have hx of lung cancer x3; CLL; benign tumor on thyroid gland and one on adrenal gland. I have enlarged spleen and liver. I smoked for 52 yrs and quit cold in October 2012. I have pulmonary artery emboli, peripheral vascular disease. I am overweight. It seems like my metabolism stopped when I quit smoking. I am now 75 yrs old. I take clonidine 0.2 ; lisinopril w/hctz; warfarin, tramadol 50 t.i.d. for polymyalgia resulting from near fatal septic shock in 2005. I am female. The daily sweating is what I d like addressed. It interferes with quality of life. I am on oxygen for mild copd.
An enlarged spleen is called splenomegaly and there are various causes possibly leading to this. In the first case, these are infections such as mononucleosis parasitic infections, such as toxoplasmosis or bacterial infections. It means that any infection in your body may lead to spleen enlargement.
Second most common causes include autoimmune diseases such as thrombocytopenia. If this is ruled out by specific tests then some other causes may be considered and some are more or less serious such as Leukemia-Lymphoma, or some inflammatory diseases such as sarcoidosis, lupus, and rheumatoid arthritis. In every case, infectious causes are treated with antibiotics and other causes may require surgical removal of the spleen.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
