What Causes Excessive Sweating While On Oxycontin And Prednisone?

Hello, I take a lot of medication including Oxycontin. I am a 74 yr old male. I have had periods of sweating that last for up to 3 hours. If I sit in front of a fan or in an air-conditioned car I feel better but it may not stop the sweating. I have been on prednisone for a rheumatic condition. My blood pressure has been normal during these episodes. What could be causing this, and is there something I should change or be concerned about this. It usually happens early in the day.

Hello
Welcome to Ask a Doctor Service
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Certain conditions are there which causes the excessive sweating in older age first is age it self, second medication, diabetes, metabolic diseases, alcohol, and smoking, these elements if not there then perspiration may not be there, else it can be managed with maintaining good diet, reducing multiple medication, alcohol, else no it is nothing to worry.
Hope I have answered your query, let me know for further assistance.
