I had Polio at two years and I am now 65 . I sweat a lot just from any kind of exertion . I can't wear makeup because I am always hot. I was forced into menopause at thirty eight and I've been sweating ever since. Is there anything that can stop it? Thanks Gail

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi, I understand your concern. Menopause is a known cause for increased sweating. This is due to hormonal imbalance . The management can be by- - avoiding hot atmosphere, taking frequent cold water baths, use of topical anti antiperspirants. - Certain medicines can help , but needs to be decided by an expert physician after health evaluation of patient/ investigations. Thanks.
