my little sister is on levetiracetam 500mg 1 in the morning 2 at night she has been sleeping all day every day this week staying tired and she has been grabbing around her kidneys saying she is hurting she is keeping bad headachs and then she just gets sleepy and goes to sleep do I need to take her to the er

Based on the history you have shared, yes levetiracetam can cause drowsiness as it acts on nervous system and neurotransmitters however for kidney pain she needs to be evaluated by fresh renal function and urinalysis as well as ultrasound KUB. For pain relief OTC analgesics like acetaminophen can help.
