Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have excessive burping that started in april 2017. It is not acidic. It feels as if there is pressure in my chest and the only way to relieve it is through burping. I get hiccups after eating along with excessive painful burping, again no acidic return with these episodes. I cant get over this. I have drank pure ginger tea with lemon to help relieve my overactive stomach but it is only a temporary fix. I have tried antiacids and pepcid but they only cause acidic acid reflux which tears hurts my esophogas tremendously.

There are different possible causes for the excessive burping that are experiencing. Most commonly , it may reflect reflux or due to gas producing foods. Not all persons with reflux experience the burning discomfort. Some may have bloating or nausea or excess salivation or burping or a combination. Gas producing foods include- broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, turnips, beans, carbonated drinks.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
