What Causes Esophageal Erosion In Spite Of Taking Omeprazole?
I have been diagnosed with oesophagus distal end erosion and fundus erosion 6 months ago. I am on osmeoprazole 80 mg per day. But still the symptoms persist. Can this conditions be cured completely? I am really depressed , since I am on constant medication. What are the chances of developing oesophagal cancer?

I understand your concern. Most reflux events occur during transient lower oesophageal sphincter relaxations (TLESRs) during night/ lying down positions.
treatment options available:
1) Common strategies for proton pump inhibitors (PPI-refractory GERD) are to increase the PPI dose or to change to an alternative PPI
2) GABA B agonists (baclofen or arbaclofen) - to prevent sphincter relaxations
3) Laparoscopic fundoplication - prevents all forms of reflux.
4) highly selective vagotomy - to stop acid production completely.
