What Causes Episodes Of Waking Up With Warm, trouble In Breathing?

I am a 49 year old female. About once or twice a month I wake from a sound sleep feeling warm, I get very flushed all over, I can't breathe through my nose, my hands are hot and itchy and my heart feels like it's going to pound right out of my chest. I try to lay very still and slow my heartbeat down, any movement makes it beat harder. If I am not successful slowing it back down and going back to sleep I will end up in the bathroom sick to my stomach and very light headed. I am successful about 30% of the time. I am not in perimenopause (I've been tested). My thyroid is at 0.96. I don't think it's a panic attack or I would get when awake too. Any ideas?

Hi thanks for asking question.
Here are few possibilities in your case.

1.First as headache , blocked nose are main complaint on first impression most probably it is simple viral infection.Treat it symptomatically. For blocked nose take antihistaminic drug or decongestant like oxymetazoline.

2.Second according to history although you are not suspecting but because of stress full work during day time may lead anxiety and subsequent panic attack.Try to be relax and try to avoid situation that leaf stress.
Do regular exercise.

3.You are also complaining some heartbeat related problem that can be due to stress. But still to rule out cardiac condition you can do electrocardiography.

4.If fever is also present with described features chest x ray , complete blood count
And liver enzyme study done.

I hope my suggestion will helpful to you.
