What Causes Episodes Of Arrhythmic Heart Rate In A Diabetic Patient?

I am male 66 years old. I take meds for hypertension, type 2 diabetes, and statin for cholesterol. My numbers are all well controlled by these meds. Sometimes when I am at rest I would get a sudden jolt or two of my heart beat. There seems to be no other accompanying symptoms other than it gives me anxiety. Is this something to be concerned about?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
Any heart issue in a diabetic is concerning. However, there are irregular beats that can be normal or just triggered by something like caffeine. You need to talk to your doctor and see if you need to wear a Holter monitor to sort out the cause of these palpitations.
