What Causes Epidermoid Cyst?

I am a 22 year old female and found a painful lump that looked like a giant pimple in the shower and it burst. It was just diagonal from my genital area, between my hip bone and my genitals. When I showed it to my mom she said it was an epidermoid cyst and that my dad gets them on his back. it was full of blood. it has a small opening now and I am worried about getting an infection. What should I do?

Hi, dear
I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.
You may have sebaceous cyst or dermoid cyst. It has a small opening and its diagnostic of sebaceous cyst. Treatment of choice is complete surgical excision. Consult your doctor go for Surgery . Don't worry much about that. Its just a minor procedure.
Consult your doctor and take treatment accordingly. Hope I have answered your question, if you have doubt then I will be happy to answer. Thanks for using health care magic. Wish you a very good health.
