What Causes Enlarged Liver?

my niece get an extremely swollen tummy after eating, huge really. An ultrasound found she has an enlarged liver. Waiting to see a GI specialist, any idea what this could be?

Hi, I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.

There are several possible causes and additional tests are reuqired for diagnosis and the treatment depends on exact cause. if this is caused by diet, obesity and diabetes then dietary and lifestyle changes will be beneficial in every case. Alcohol and viral hepatitis are most common causes and in this case medical evaluation is required.

Also if there is infectious disease or biliary duct disorders then he needs to do some tests to rule out more serious issues which require specific medical treatment.
