What Causes Elevation In BP Levels Despite Taking Norvasc?

Hi, I take Norvasc 5 mg BID. I usually take 5 on the morning and 5 on the evening. I notice that on the even the BP increase when I checked the BP before taking the med.Usually because I have a headache. Should I increase the dosage taking One pill at lunch time. Thanks a lot

Hi,

It would have been easier to comment if I had your blood pressure values for the past days in order to understand your response to the treatment. Adding the dose of your drug has to be done by your treating physician who knows well how you are evolving. Dosage adding could only be done if the addition doesn't go out of the safety limit.

The max dose of Norvasc is 10mg which you are currently taking. You also have to understand that being in stress before taking the bp could increase the bp values. I will advise you to meet your treating doctor to re-evaluate if you need an additional drug which will be of a different class of antihypertensive drugs.
