What Causes Elevated Liver Enzymes In Blood?

Yes last Tuesday I had some labs taken and they just called me to come back because my liver levels were extremely high like 137. I m in a migraine study getting shots every 4 weeks the only melds I take frequently is aleve and Tylenol. I take Meds for high blood pressure and cholesterol and Meds for my low thyroid. I have a beer a night so no big drinking I m a healthy Norman white female 62 yrs old. Don t have hepatitis no herpes not even cold sores. What could be a cause for this high elevation. I m a breast cancer survivor of 18 yrs.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to the use of anti-inflammatory medication. Aleve and Tylenol cause the liver inflammation and the liver enzymes to increase.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
